AWS’ new Cloud tools – Software

Amazon Web Services (AWS), the largest Cloud computing company in the world, has unveiled a set of tools to help businesses create their own chatbots & AI-powered image-generation services.

While Google and Microsoft are integrating AI chatbots into their consumer offerings & selling the underlying technology to other businesses via their on-demand Cloud operations, AWS is taking a different direction. Its Bedrock service will allow customers to work with Amazon Titan & a menu of models provided by other businesses, including 3rd-party solutions from firms AI21 Labs, Anthropic, & Stability AI. The underlying servers will utilize a combination of Nvidia Corp. processors & chips from Amazon’s own bespoke AI chips.

Along with the new AI capabilities, AWS has also released a new edition of Amazon Linux, AL2023. The latest edition features a new Fedora foundation, updated packages, enhanced performance, & increased security. However, current Amazon Linux 2 customers may find it difficult to update due to the numerous breaking changes & restricted package availability.

While Google & Microsoft are eyeing a sizable market for the underlying technology of AI chatbots, AWS is offering a different solution with its Bedrock service. The service will allow businesses to work with Amazon Titan & other models provided by 3rd-party firms. Additionally, AWS has released a new edition of Amazon Linux, AL2023, with updated features & security.
