“Square QR” allows users to generate QR codes on the fly – New app

QR code generator, anyone? Generating & using QR codes seems like something that should be reserved for deep-pocketed conglomerations. However, there are multiple use cases for small businesses & even for individuals. Square QR offers an online service which gives everyone the opportunity to generate & use QR codes for any reason they deem fit.

Square QR allows users to generate dynamic QR codes that can be tracked to evaluate performance. QR codes can be used for many solutions like distributing your WiFi network information, address & directions info or social media links. Many other services are expensive & are difficult to use, but Square QR offers a free service for common use cases. They also offer a paid service for more complex solutions, which includes a tracking service with full online analytics.

No registration or sign up is required by Square QR to use their basic offerings. Generating a QR code is exceptionally easy using Square QR’s online editor –

Options include (free):

  1. Text – embed text in the QR code
  2. URL – embed a link
  3. Email – custom emails by scanning the code
  4. Crypto – by scanning the code people can pay you in cryptocurrency

Paid options include PayPal, phone, SMS, FaceTime, WhatsApp, location, events, VCard & WiFi.

Simply click on the type of code you would like. Editing options appear, which offer customization, such as custom foreground & background colors, option to embed a branded logo, custom text, email addresses, phone numbers & so forth. Once generated users can download or print their QR code, with an option to save it to a personalized dashboard if they sign up for an account.

The service offers two paid plans: the first option gives you – 13 QR code types, 25 saved QR codes, 10 projects, 15 pixels with the higher priced option offering unlimited facilities for quantity & projects. Square QR also offers an API so that users can generate & track QR codes remotely. The service returns information in JSON format, which is easy to integrate into any software.
