“Komodo Decks” builds screencast videos from slides for SOPs – Startups

Komodo Decks makes it easy to turn presentations into engaging, share-worthy videos. Founded by Khanan Grauer, the SASS tool allows users to import slides and pdf, which can be used to create SOPs (Simple Operating Procedures), educational videos or feedback videos in minutes.

Instead of clunky images and text, Komodo Decks allows users to create videos for customers, students, potential investors or anyone who could benefit from well-presented videos that offer demonstrated explanations in an engaging manner.

The tools available on the app allow users to import images, videos, PowerPoint slides, or pdfs, then use these images to create video guides. Users can record voiceovers directly on the app and even include a video image of themselves, which is embedded over the original image or slide. The app also offers drawing tools so that users can highlight important aspects of the educational process.

Once the video is finalized, users can share a link with team members, employees students or clients. The video is hosted on Komodo Decks, or it can be exported to share on social media sites or YouTube.

The team behind Komodo Decks has developed apps for iOS, Android and Mac. Additionally, they offer a Chrome extension, which works as a recorder in-browser.

Komodo Decks is great for making sales videos for products, LinkedIn videos for potential staff onboarding or for potential investors, and many other use cases from education to fun usage, such as making family slides into narrated stories.

The Mac app offers services beyond those of the mobile apps, and includes an AI-assisted video editor that allows users to edit voiceovers in pieces—in other words, re-record sections of the audio that you’re not happy with. The video transcription can also be edited as a text-based editor—text edits are translated to video.

The platform offers a free starter plan for 1 user who needs to make guides that include 10 steps or less. Thereafter, there are paid plans.
