Share posts from Reddit to Snapchat with the new Reddit ‘share button’ – News

Reddit & Snapchat  two of the most well-used social media sharing apps have embarked on a collaboration that allows Snapchatters to share Reddit posts with their followers. The new Snapchat ‘share’ button has been available on Reddit for the past few days. So how do you go about sharing interesting Reddit content with your friends & family, & what type of Content can you share?

Firstly, the sharing feature is currently, only available on the Reddit IoS app, but the collaborators plan to roll out the option for Android devices in the near future. Secondly, both Reddit & Snapchat apps must be installed for any party wanting to access the shared Content. Lastly, only certain types of Reddit posts can be shared.

Reddit posts are divided into thousands of categories, & each of these categories support ‘Subreddits’, so there’s more than sufficient interesting content to share across to Snapchat. However, only posts that are classified as ‘Safe for Work’, & from subreddits in good standing with the app & the Reddit community are eligible for Snapchat sharing. If the ‘share’ button is displayed on the post, users can share the content to Snapchat. Each ‘share’ is labeled with the Reddit logo, by way of a Reddit sticker, & the title of the post is displayed on the users screen.

Snapchatters have the option to share the Content with all their followers, or they can select a few chosen buddies by way of preference. If a person wants to follow up on the link & they don’t have the Reddit app installed, they’ll be directed to the iOS App Store to download before they can access the content.

Ideally, this new feature will bring interesting content, across a broad range of topics to Snapchat, & see a spike in users for Reddit, a win-win situation for both social media services.
