‘GoChat’ is a game location-based chat app for the game Pokémon GO. It has added various features to the game to help improve your experience while playing. This chat app kind of brings together the game’s community & adventurous aspect.
With Pokémon GO lacking any form of in-app communication for now, GoChat will allow you to post specific locations, i.e. where the gym, restaurant, etc is. It also enables you to direct message players who are nearby. Therefore, the key to seeing posts & message users from their posts is to ensure you are closer to the location of the post itself.
To send a direct message, you just hold down a post & click message. In case you try to see a post or message while not close enough GoChat will also notify you that you are too far to view the post. It means with this app every Pokéstop is like a pin on the map functioning as a localized chat.
Some of you may not know this yet but Pokémon GO uses your phone’s GPS & clock to detect where & when you are in the game. It then makes PoGo appear around you or in this case your screen so that you can go & catch them. The game’s essence is to encourage you to travel around the real world to catch Pokemon in the game. It is an improvement of the original game from the 1990s.
The only cause for alarm while using GoChat is about its privacy. This is because when you send a message, the game will display your current location. Therefore, other users will easily know your home’s location or other private premises.
GoChat was released on App Store on July 4, 2016. It requires iOS 8.0 or later & is compatible with iPhone, iPad, & iPod touch. For Android users using Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, you will need to install the latest system update before installing this chat app. This will help fix the errors showing up for those who haven’t updated. The app requires Android 4.0 & up.
