Pitterpattr.com was founded in 2018 by Patrick Payne during his studies at The University of Adelaide.
Patrick believes that sound can evoke strong emotions, it can make you sad, or happy — sound can motivate you to do incredible things. So then, with this belief in mind, Patrick built a short-format sound platform, which allows users to make & share interesting sound snippets.
TikTok made short-format videos famous, & the user numbers confirm that people like short, searchable media Content. Pitter Pattr offers a vast, user-created sound database that is filtered by hashtags. Users can search for interesting sounds & share them on social media. Each user’s profile is populated with their ‘Discography’, & it also details the user’s most popular snippets & their latest offering.
The platform is entirely free to use — users need to sign up for an account on the Pitter Pattr platform. Once that’s done they can start uploading, tagging & sharing their sound snippets. The platform is community based & driven, so users can follow each other, & show “love” for any snippet they particularly like. Snippets consist of popular catch-phrases, favorite movie quotes, reworked song lyrics, or anything else a user might fancy.
Pitter Pattr’s searchable database makes it easy to find Content — each snippet can be listened to on the creators profile & is linked to similar content, which might be of interest.
Currently, Pitter Pattr is Web based, but the developers are planning to release apps for both Android & IOS in the near future.
