Nearly half (48%) of US adults say they get news from social media “often” or “sometimes,” a 5 percentage point decline from 2020, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted July 26-August 8, 2021.
Facebook is the most popular social media Site where Americans get news regularly. Most other social media Sites aren’t likely to be news sources regularly. Reddit (7%), TikTok (6%), LinkedIn (4%), Snapchat (4%), WhatsApp (3%) & Twitch (1%), among others, are sources of news for less than one in 10 Americans.
