This new podcast platform ‘Swoot’ claims to be different from the rest – #Startups

new podcast platform

Not everyone is quite into podcasts, but for people who are interested in them, one of the most common problems is finding new shows to listen to. Now there is a new podcast platform that might potentially solve that problem.

‘Swoot’ is a newly launched podcast app that’s aimed at helping users solve the problem of discovering new podcasts. Swoot introduces an entirely new angle to podcasts by adding a social element to the app. It allows users to see shows that their friends are listening to & what other people find interesting.

Swoot is just like any other podcast player but with an interesting twist to it. By making it possible to see what your friends are listening to, Swoot hopes to solve the problem of discovering new & interesting Content for new & longtime podcast listeners. Swoot also makes it easier for you to recommend & share what you are listening to with friends.

In addition to checking what your friends to see the shows they like, you can also search for podcasts the usual way. Swoot adds a little extra to this as well. You will be able to see if any of your friends are listening to the contents that show up on your search results. This makes it easier to make a decision on which ones to listen to. You can also message them to ask about the show & get their opinion about it.

Because Swoot is largely a social podcast platform, the success of the venture depends largely on having as many people as possible onboard. This means many people will have to switch from their regular podcast player to Swoot.  To makes this easier, Swoot makes it possible for users to find friends & invite them through platforms like Twitter, Facebook. You can also find friends on your contact or you can look simply add friends using their usernames.

Co-founders Pete Curley & Garret Heaton are confident of the success of this app. The pair who previously founded & sold HipChat have already raised $3 million in venture capital fund to bring the idea to life. Visit https://swoot.com/ to learn more or signup for Swoot.
