That’s right. Starting today, Twitter users (on iOS for now & Android/Web users after a few days) can tap on a sparkle emoji icon to see the most recent tweets in their timeline, rather than having to go into their settings to make the switch.

The default timeline view, ‘Home’ will still be ordered based on top tweets, or what Twitter thinks you’d like to see. The new timeline feature is “personalized”. As you tap to switch between the 2 modes, Twitter’s algorithm will learn your preferences.

The feature also includes a shortcut to ‘View content preferences,’ which allows you to quickly look over safety features like muted words and blocked accounts. As we all know, ‘top tweets’ was introduced in 2016.

When you log in to Twitter, you’ll land on your Home timeline. That will display tweets from accounts you have chosen to follow on Twitter. You may see suggested Content powered by a variety of signals. You can reply, retweet, or like a tweet from within the timeline. Tweets you are likely to care about most will show up first in your timeline. That’s based on accounts you interact with most, tweets you engage with, etc. Users can turn this off, too.
