“Whatfields” helps create documentation for APIs & databases at zero cost – Startups

Writing code, developing apps, APIs & databases is hard, but what’s even more stressful for developers is creating documentation for their products. Many developers use tools such as Notion to assist, but Jeroen Riemens, the creator of Whatfields, found that most of the existing tools were either very complex to use or simply lacked functionality, so he decided to produce a tool that effectively solved the problem.

Whatfields is a tool that will assist developers in creating docs for APIs, databases, object types, & more. The solution is completely free to use. In addition to creating documentation, Whatfields has no dependencies & allows users to sign up using either Google or Twitter to create shareable links to their documentation, which they can subsequently distribute to interested parties.

The tools available are easy to use & because Jeroen has aimed at simplicity, they are fast to employ. The service allows users to add documents, code examples & fields. Every field has an associated option to add a description & examples. Once the user has completed their fields, the tool creates a unique URL for the information, which the user can share.

Jeroen built the tool over one weekend & immediately received over a 1000 sign ups, so it’s quite obvious that he’s on to a good thing; something that people need & can use with ease. The tool has been released as an Alpha product, & Jeroen is waiting for people to test & use his app & offer feedback so that he can iron out any wrinkles. Right now Whatfields only supports desktop computers, but mobile support is in the pipeline To investigate the product simply head over to Whatfields & sign up free.
