“Wavelength” claims to be first group chat messaging app to incorporate AI – AI Startups

Wavelength is a messaging app with a difference. Built with group chat in mind, the app is conceptually unique in the world of messaging. Whether it’s WhatsApp, Messenger, Signal, or any other chat app, the interface and functionality are designed for a one-on-one chat. This means that group chat quickly gets out of hand if the members of a chat group grow.

Founded by Marc Bodnick, Richard Henry, and Riley Patterson, Wavelength can handle and organize threads within a group so that members find it simple to follow subjects of interest and ignore anything they’d rather not be involved with. The UI is intuitively designed to show users a summary of active threads in a group. The summary, in card-like form, gives users an overview of each active thread at a glance. Members can view the subject or title of the thread, see how many new messages have come in, and see who started the thread at a glance.

In addition to the innovative approach taken by the developers of Wavelength, the app also features a built-in AI chatbot that can interact within the group. This makes Wavelength the first group chat application that offers AI chat. The chatbot is provided by OpenAI and is based on ChatGPT. Users can interact with the AI severally or in tandem, which means that AI assistance on group questions and issues can be solved from within the app.

The app is available for iOS (Mac, iPhone, & iPad) at the moment, but the developers plan to roll out apps for Android in the near future. All messaging within the app is encrypted using a state-of-the-art security framework to ensure user privacy.

Wavelength is absolutely free to download, and the developers guarantee that it’ll always remain ad-free and free to use. Monetization is planned for the app, but the developers believe that they can turn a profit by offering “paid” Pro features instead of cluttering the interface with irritating advertising.
