Toonstar, Selfiecircus, ConBody: Presenting Yellow’ Class of Fall 2018 – News

From a digital media company dedicated to K-Pop, to workout regimes by incarcerated individuals, wedding stories to help wannabe brides & grooms, to lifestyle brand to empower plus-size girls, the list of entrepreneurial ventures making it to Yellow, Snap Inc’s inaugural startup incubator Fall Class of 2018 couldn’t have been more kaleidoscopic.

Around 9 companies made the cut, as reported 1st by TechCrunch, after the Fall program was announced in May 2018.

The program started Monday & will run through December 7, 2018.

The Yellow Program

The idea is to provide platform to showcase stories of varied hue & forms. Be it interactive stories, a show, an AR experience, building the next big media company, the more diverse the idea, the better it is.

The Website, Yellow, a “launchpad for creative minds” mentions that the small group of individuals & teams picked up from across the globe will be asked to join the inaugural 3-month program. Not only will they be funded & mentored by the best names in the business, they would also be provided with the office space right in Venice, California. Not to forget the opportunity for distribution on the parent company, Snapchat. The program offers investment of US $150k for equity on founder-friendly terms.

The Website also provides a list of Content categories, though your idea not being there shouldn’t deter you from applying for the program.

  1. Toonstar (Los Angeles): an animation network creating interactive shorts on-the-fly.
  2. ConBody (New York): offers to teach fitness by hiring formerly incarcerated individuals.
  3. ANRK (London): uses Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality & games for an immersive experience in storytelling.
  4. SelfieCircus (Los Angeles): plans to connect artists, brands & consumers, also design, document & share pop-up experiences on social media.
  5. Hashtag Our Stories (Durban, South Africa): a social-first video publisher empowering citizens via storytelling.
  6. IDK (Los Angeles): a digital media company dedicated to Korean music.
  7. Love Stories TV (New York): a wedding-planning platform detailing filmmakers, newlyweds to help wannabe brides & grooms with their big day.
  8. Premme (Los Angeles): a platform to empower plus-size women by creating a lifestyle brand.
  9. Space Oddity Films (Los Angeles): offers curated Content for film, television & digital world by exploring technology & culture.
