SwiftKey Mobile Keyboard by Microsoft Introduces Exciting AI-Enhanced Capabilities

Along with AI advances in Windows 11 and Bing, Microsoft also this week announced it’s bringing new AI-powered features to its SwiftKey mobile keyboard app for iOS and Android.

This third-party app lets users replace the default keyboard on their phone with an intelligent keyboard that learns your writing style so you can type faster. Now, it will also include AI camera lenses, AI stickers, an AI-powered editor and the ability to create AI images from the app.

The new AI camera lenses will let users create photos, videos and GIFs with different effects, including lenses that are powered by Microsoft’s collaboration with Snapchat maker Snap. There are now over 250 tools and filters available to help you express yourself, the company notes.

Here are some key highlights of these new features:

  1. AI Camera Lenses: Users can now use AI camera lenses within the SwiftKey app to create photos, videos, and GIFs with various effects. These effects can range from filters and enhancements to more creative and fun features. The mention of a collaboration with Snap suggests that there may be some Snapchat-powered lenses available as well, further expanding the creative possibilities.
  2. AI Stickers: The inclusion of AI stickers suggests that the app may offer suggestions for stickers based on the content of your messages or the context of your conversation. This can make conversations more engaging and expressive by suggesting relevant stickers to insert.
  3. AI-Powered Editor: With AI-powered editing features, SwiftKey may offer intelligent suggestions for correcting grammar, spelling, or style in your text. This can help users compose more polished and error-free messages.
  4. AI Images: The ability to create AI images directly within the app implies that SwiftKey may provide tools for generating custom images with AI-generated content, text, or effects. This can be useful for creating visually appealing content to share in messages or on social media.
  5. Enhanced Personalization: SwiftKey is already known for its ability to learn and adapt to your writing style to improve typing speed and accuracy. With AI advancements, this personalization may become even more effective, providing a smoother and more customized typing experience.
