Snapchat is a very popular messaging & media sharing app currently used by more than 210 million people on a daily basis. The app boasts 46 million American users alone. Everyone is keen to earn what Snapchat calls “Trophies”, by completing various tasks or actions. One type of, much sought after, Trophy is what is known in-house as a Snapchat Streak, or Snapstreak for short.
Users working in tandem can achieve a Snapstreak if they send each other a Snap (picture or video) for 3 consecutive days without fail. Because of this Snapstreak, each user earns a “Fire Emoji” Snapchat Trophy, which is displayed on their profile next to their Snapchat friend’s name. Users need do no more than send a Snap to each other(back & forth) within any 24 hour period to earn their badge, but it has to be a Snap, rather than a Chat (text message).
The app automatically allocates the cool Fire Emoji, so nothing more than Snapping is required to earn it. Additionally, as users continue their Streak a number appears next to the emoji, which denotes the number of days that the Streak has been active. Snapchatters who maintain their Streak for 100 days earn an additional SnapTrophy, they receive the “100 Emoji” badge.
The Internet’s social media posts are full of emotional rants by Snapchatters who have lost their “Streak”, & their “Trophy” along with it. If you’re one of these sad people, & believe that your badge has been erroneously lost, you can contact SnapChat support to get feedback. In fact, if you view your Snapchat options within your profile, you’ll see a dedicated button specifically for this purpose. The app warns users if they are in danger of losing their Snapstreak via an “Hourglass Emoji” placed next to their friend’s name, so that users are reminded & can act quickly to remedy the situation.
Each exchange must be conducted between individuals, Snaps sent to groups do not count. To earn your Trophy, select a Snapchat friend & start your Streak… might be loads of fun.
