Snapchat held its annual Partner Summit, revealing new updates & tools, including how its adoption of generative AI is being used in the My AI chat assistant.
The tool, which launched in February, is now facilitating over 2 million chats per day, & Snapchat is looking to expand its features, such as personalizing the “My AI avatar” & adding an image generation element. The social media platform is also incorporating generative AI into new AR Lenses, with the first being the Cosmic Lens, & the features will roll out over the coming months.
Snapchat is also expanding its Stories revenue share program to provide more monetization opportunities for creators, giving more Snap creators the ability to generate direct income via their Snap Content. The platform is also looking to showcase more creator Content in the Snap Map via Place Tags, highlighting Snaps from specific spots to boost audience reach. However, Snap’s revenue share programs have been inconsistent, with the Spotlight rewards program turning some creators off due to inconsistent payouts.
