Twitter has changed its policy in a way that 3rd party app developers can no longer construct their own clients.
It has tweaked its developer agreement to prohibit developers “using or accessing the Licensed Materials to construct or attempt to create a substitute or similar service or product to the Twitter Applications”.
The modification validates what developers of numerous well-known Twitter clients had been speculating about in recent days: that Elon Musk’s administration would soon forbid the use of 3rd-party Twitter services.
