Google today announced it was opening access to Bard, an early experiment that lets users collaborate with generative AI. This was as a follow-up to its announcements from last week.
You can use Bard to boost your productivity, accelerate your ideas & fuel your curiosity, as Google put it. You might ask Bard to give you tips to reach your goal of reading more books this year, explain quantum physics in simple terms or spark your creativity by outlining a blog post.
Bard is powered by a research large language model (LLM), specifically a lightweight & optimized version of LaMDA, & will be updated with newer, more capable models over time.
In February, when Google had put out a teaser clip for Bard, the chatbot was shown making a factual error. Google’s value had eroded by $100 billion overnight.
