Create a landing page in a couple of minutes

calling cards

While the concept of calling cards may seem like a quaint Victorian throwback in this electronic age, what could be more useful than to have a one page card giving only your very basic information? I mean, your Twitter handle, your email address, phone number & a photo which makes you look as glamorous or mysterious as you wish.

The developer has billed ‘Carrd’ as a 1-page fully responsive Site, simple in design & intent. It can be used as a calling card, or an introduction, or for a ‘coming soon’ announcement. For just about anything you want, really. There’s a Mailchimp signup form to capture emails as well. So people can get in touch. Its free to use, but if you are the type who always wants more (like other forms & custom domain support) you’ve got to shell out.

So upgrades include:

  • Multiple Sites from 1 account
  • Domain support
  • Form elements
  • Branding removed
  • Google Analytics

The interface is very simple, & that was partly why the designer & developer, Nashville-based AJ, decided to build this product though there are many similar ones in the market. He claims that people don’t have the same needs, so there’s always room to expand & grow. It is in beta mode now, and there is no login or ‘invite’ is required. Instead, refreshingly, you just jump straight in to create your card! AJ has made Pixelarity & HTML5 previously.
