On Monday, Twitter users were met with an unexpected sight – the absence of the iconic blue bird logo, which had been replaced by an image of doge, the Shiba Inu Internet meme favored by Elon Musk.
The doge icon now appears on the upper left-hand corner menu on the Web & replaces the Twitter logo at the top of the screen on mobile devices. Additionally, the doge meme appears on the loading page screen on the Web.
While it’s unclear why Twitter made this change, it’s likely that it was either approved or initiated by Musk himself. The timing of the change is also curious, as April Fools’ Day has just passed a few days ago. It’s possible that Twitter attempted to implement this change on April 1st but experienced difficulties, leading them to launch it at a later date instead, say some reports.
