‘Tinyfollow’ offers a new way of following tweets – #Startups

Twitter followers

Twitter is great, but how often do you find the time to catch up on tweets? Most only visit Twitter when they have something to relay, or they’re interested in a particular trending topic. That means that they miss out on tons of tweets they would have otherwise found valuable.

Cleverly, Charles Han, a developer who is based in British Columbia, & the man behind Tinyfollow  has thought of a new way to serve up tweets. Tinyfollow allows users to receive an email digest of tweets from people they’re following. The app, which is available on the Web, uses the Twitter API to collect tweets from Twitter users & send them to followers, who have elected to receive them based on a timeline of their choice – daily, weekly, monthly. This means that you’ll never miss out on a ‘juicy’ tweet again, even if you don’t visit Twitter regularly.

The developer plans to add additional functionality to the app in the near future, such as combining different tweet sets into a single email & adding other social media APIs to his offering, such as Reddit.

Tinyfollow’s Web interface offers a simple & easy to understand platform for users to find new people to follow via an integrated Twitter search facility, the app also suggests a few people users might be interested in. All that is required to turn tweets into a ‘Newsletter’, is to sign up for Tinyfollow’s free service & select how often you want to receive your email.
