An Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered photo app, ‘Zyl’ offers to offload your worries.
Zyl , powered by AI, intelligently sorts through your images & identifies those which are either duplicates or imperfect. Then, it separates them into a folder for you, so that you can see if you agree with its choice. Saving photo management feature is one of the star features which has leveraged massive seed funding for the app.
Zyl’s recently launched 3.0 version has another AI enhanced feature; it will intuitively select images from albums & present them in a unique form on a daily basis for sharing with family or friends. The app refers to it as Memories, where each memory has a different format every day such as a video, GIF or collage. Albums are managed by AI, so that similar images are added to them when appropriate.
Founders, Mathieu Spiry, Florent Hobein, Aurélien Sibiril, floated their concept in 2013. Originally called Comet, the idea for the app attracted notable attention from a variety of angels. Once funded, the team began working on their app & launched it in 2015. Its user base has accelerated from 50,000 in December 2015 to more than 200,000 in 2017. The platform is aiming to net million users by the end of 2018.
Zyl is free to download on the Apple Apps Store & on Google Play. In addition to its smart duplicate & bad picture identification techniques, Zyl will also identify similar images which you might want to categorize into an album. It calls these galleries Magic Albums – they can be named & shared among device contacts.
