Microsoft launches Web app for presentations called Sway (PowerPoint users, pl note)

Microsoft Sway

Microsoft has launched a challenger to its own product, the PowerPoint, by launching a free Web app for presentations called Sway. (Please note the stress on the word, free).

Sway, we are told, was on the test bed for the last 10 months or so. What Sway does is go into a realm not occupied in some ways by PP. It allows users to add photos, text & videos not only from your own collection but also from networks Facebook, Twitter, OneDrive & YouTube to tell stories.

Sway also suggests searches to help you find relevant images, videos, tweets, & other Content that you can drag & drop right in to your creation. No need to juggle apps & Web pages to find what you want. Plus, unlike PP, users need not worry about formatting, Sway’s built-in design engine takes care of it. If the 1st design isn’t right for you, you may ‘ remix!’  it to see others or customize it to make it your own.

The Windows 10 app offers all the features of Sway on the Web with some additional capabilities on your PC or Tablet. Windows 10 users can also access Sway offline.

Sway is available for free download today on Windows 10 PCs & Tablets with a Windows Phone app arriving in coming months.
