WordPress may treat Google’s new tracking system as security concern – News

With 40% of the world’s Sites built on the WordPress (WP) platform, the management has floated a public proposal seeking feedback on taking out Google’s new Federated Learning of Cohorts (FLoC).

It has announced it (WP.org) would be treating FLoC as a security concern. Furthermore, for WordPress versions that support privacy settings, it could add a feature that could allow an “on-off toggle” to enable Websites to opt in. This would only require a few more lines of code & only a couple of new strings, said the WP development team.

Already many other Internet companies like Brave Browser have come out strongly against FLoC, as reported by this Website.
