WordPress iOS app gets new features

Popular blogging platform WordPress (WP) has added more features to it iOS app. WP has been around for a while now, & this product by Automattic has taken the blogging community by storm, becoming perhaps the 1st choice of bloggers. Over time, it has turned into a Content Management System.

These days, with the advent of touchscreen mobile computing devices, those using WP iOS app from such devices do face some problems while posting to their blogs. After all, typing on a Tablet is not the same like that on a laptop, unless of course, if you are using an external keyboard.

WordPress has now gone an updated the WP iOS app. The new visual editor introduces a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) interface, which now means a blogger will see exactly what his post will look like before hitting the ‘publish’button. There are features such as emboldened text, italics, among others. The new version of the WP iOS app also lets bloggers insert images with one tap.

Here are the new features of the WordPress iOS app:
  • New visual editor for “what you see is what you get” content creation
  • Option to edit image settings in posts and pages
  • Ability to retry failed image uploads

Among the other things bloggers can do with the WP iOS app is draft a spontaneous haiku, snap a photo, respond to your latest comments, or monitor your stats to see where today’s readers are coming from. They can even tag their posts published from the app with #wponthego so the community can find it while on the move.

WordPress for iOS is an Open Source project, which means you, too, can help contribute to its development. Learn more at http://ios.wordpress.org.

WP iOS app requires iOS 7.0 or later & is compatible with iPhone, iPad, & iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, & iPhone 6 Plus.
