Use this Gmail extension to find out who’s tracking your emails – #Startup

These days, there are Online tools out there that have the ability to track the emails sent to you. Now, in a scenario straight out of “Spy vs Spy”, there’s a new browser extension called ‘Ugly Email’ that lets you know who’s tracking your emails.

Ugly Email claims to “safely snifs through the emails in your inbox & exposes the emails that are being tracked.” Every tracked email is marked with the “evil eye” so you can easily identify them.

Launched a few days ago, Ugly Email is a Gmail extension that allows you to see if the email is being tracked before opening it. It seamlessly integrates with Gmail.Once you’ve installed Ugly Email, open a new Gmail tab & try looking at your inbox. You should see Ugly Email “eye” indicator next to each email that is being tracked.

Ugly Email currently detects tracking pixels from Streak, Yesware, Mandrill, MailChimp, Postmark & Bananatag & is working on adding more.

As of now, Ugly Email is a Gmail Google Chrome extension but the developer OneClick Lab is working on one for Mozilla Firefox too.
