Earlier: Thousands of people were unable to access the microblogging service Twitter on Thursday, according to the outage monitoring website Downdetector.com.
As of 7:40 p.m. ET, over 10,000 users in the US had trouble accessing the social media platform, according to a Reuters report.
However, just over 3,700 faults had been reported less than an hour later.
