Twitter acquires newsletter company Revue – News

Twitter has acquired the newsletter publishing company Revue for an undisclosed sum.

Revue’s service will continue operating as a “standalone service” within Twitter, Revue said on its official blog on Tuesday. Clearly, as some surveys have predicted, the newsletter industry is all set to grow massively in the short term, & this could explain this latest acquisition by Twitter.

After the acquisition, starting a newsletter on Revue is now free. On paid newsletters, users will be charged 5% of the fee.

“We’ve made these changes so that everyone can be a creator on Revue, with the opportunity to scale their newsletters and a paying audience without the added fees or obstacles that can limit growth,” said the Revue announcement.
