The future of bots – The Bottr framework?

bot makerBottr is positioned as “the world’s simplest bot framework.” This framework is used to create user-facing bots, & can be integrated into Twilio & Facebook. In the near future, there should be more features which will expand its horizons to work with Twitter & mobile/desktop apps. Just to be very clear, this is not a ready-made bot, this is a framework.

I shall make a quick analogy. Imagine that a finished piece of software to be a house. A framework is the frame of the house, the supporting walls, the pipes, & all of the other complicated things that are under the hood. An application developed using a framework can be related to the different styles of houses you can build with the frame. With the same frame, you could build a Cape Cod, Craftsman, or Colonial house. So to sum it all up, this framework is to be used to create a bot to suit your needs on your company Website.

This framework takes care of a lot of the nitty gritty so that you can focus on the logical design & get results/prototype faster. With this being open source & not proprietary, the possibilities are endless.

A chat bot is a program that can chat with users, provide generic responses to common queries, & guide customers to where they need to be. This can help businesses make a sale when there is usually no one to help you when you are Online. Everyone avoids the classic help lines that companies setup because they take forever. Chat bots are usually embedded into the company Webpage, making it very convenient for customers to get the answers they want fast.

Bottr was created by James Campbell, an avid open source developer based out of London. Some other popular repositories on his Github account include xcake, NiceSupportMapFragment, Templater, & cocoapods-deploy. Campbell joined Github & has been releasing & contributing to open source software ever since.
