Store, organize, use: ‘Slicki’ up the documentation – #Startups

Slack channelAll kinds of peripheral software, add-on services have grown up around Slack, an innovative & sustainable idea. ‘Slicki’ is another such new Slack channel that allows users to build documentation & streamline the information.

With Slicki, you may create & maintain wiki pages related to Slack channels. The user can store & retrieve useful, relevant information in an organized fashion which is often necessary for connected teams. A racing slick is a tyre with a smooth tread used by racing cars, it makes the vehicle quicker. This is the premise behind Slicki, it’s simply going to enhance your Slack experience & put it on speed.

How it works
This platform builds on the user’s existing Slack structure: For each Slack channel, the user can create or retrieve the related Slicki wiki page with “/slicki” command.
You will be able to access your pages in structure resembling your Slack channel structure at your Slicki site –https://teamname.slicki.wiki –

  • Features
The user can upload directly to Slack file storage & embed these into wiki pages. The tool allows you to build documentation from conversation that you can easily store, thereby streamlining the information. Or you may also retrieve information relevant to certain groups in an organization.
  • It helps with the creation of new pages. Editing & search are some of the other features.
  • Changes can be effected in real time collaborative editing so that multiple users may get the feedback simultaneously.
  • There are options to restrict the flow of information or conversations within the channel. The platform offers support to integrate slash commands & to tag and categorize documents.
  • It works across all devices.

There are a few other players in the field, offering Slack channel integration such as ‘Tettra’. Both make it easier for newbies to get up to scratch with the rest of the team, learn common tasks & founding ideas.
Slicki offers a free trial for 5 accounts for the 1st month & post that you need to subscribe.
