“Simply Local” allows users to communicate with neighbors – Startups

If you’ve ever had a serious power outage or security issue in your neighborhood & struggled to find out what’s happening, such as when power might be restored or if the police have been notified, then you’ll realize that an app that connects people in the local area is a really great idea.

Simply Local is a community platform that acts as a communication tool for neighbors. The app offers users the opportunity to receive announcements & broadcast their own.

Users in the local community can read & share news, find friends, get help with important issues or simply strike up a discussion. All actions build the community in each locality.

To start building a community or participate in a channel, users need to download the app from The Google Playstore or The Apple App Store  & set up an account with an identifying username. This username is used on the app to protect users’ real identity & it’s the only name needed to participate in discussions. Once logged in users can set up channels based on a topic, such as, local buy & sell, news & so forth. Then users can participate by posting in these channels, commenting or simply reading local items of interest.

The app only shows local communities within a relatively narrow radius, so users do not need to follow anyone, all users in the locality automatically see each other’s Content.

The app has many possible use cases such as, broadcasting vital information, sharing security warnings, inviting residents to meetings, asking for assistance in various situations, selling items to the local community & many others.

Simply Local is free to use & every area is geo-fenced so that users can create their own private community. Users can invite people in their locality to join the service & build a valuable communication tool that is effective since it’s quick & easy to use.
