Their Website provides Potential Yearly Earnings (PYE) ranks by business type & city to help you make a more informed decision on where to locate & what sector is most profitable.
The Site provides 3 search fields: business type, city & radius (in miles). If you’ve got a pretty good idea of the business that you want to get into but not of where, you can just search from any of 800 business types & leave the city search field blank, or add a city & a radius, & LaunchScore will provide a ranked list from its database of 750 US cities.
If, on the other hand, you want to stay where you are or are very clear on what city you want to target but aren’t sure of what type of business might be suitable, you can find out the best business opportunity by just leaving the business type field blank & the Site will search for a city that’s a best fit. You´ll get a list of business sectors in that city, ranked by PYE. PYE is a monetary estimation of net profit after 3 years of launching a company & is based on research into actual economic data conducted by LaunchScore on every US city with a population of over 50,000.
For each city & business opportunity you get detailed analyses in straightforward, easy to understand, market research reports which should help you make intelligent & informed business decisions. The actual PYE score is calculated by combining data on a number of market & local factors & competition, resulting in an earning potential valuation (net present value) for around 1,000,000 business opportunities.
So, to give an example example, if you search for ‘computer consulting business’ & leave the city field blank, you’ll get the following results:
