“Martix” is decentralized system for communication over Internet -Startups

Matrix offers decentralized, real-time communication over IP, or real-time communication via the Internet. Since it is a decentralized system, there is no single controller. Matrix uses a standard HTTP API to publish information to specific channels. Uses cases include : Instant Messaging, VoIP/WebRTC & IoT communications. Message data is sent & received in JSON format, which is super easy to parse using any programming language.

The platform is interoperable, which means that it can communicate with any other platform via a bridge. Communication via Matrix occurs between homeservers & clients. Anyone can host a homeserver, & each homeserver maintains a record of each interaction they are part of.

The primary solution Matrix offers is to provide a single, totally free system to communicate between IPs. Users do not need to sign up for a specific service or download an app to communicate. The system for messaging works in much the same way as email does; where every user, no matter their address, can communicate with any other over the Internet.

Developers can use Matrix’s SDKs, which are available for a variety of programming languages, to build messaging facilities or IoT communications into their apps. All SDKs are free to download & use, but Martix offers a wide variety of methods for supporters to donate towards the maintenance of the program – it is a registered non-profit organization & is maintained by the non-profit Matrix.org Foundation.

All messages sent & received via Matrix are encrypted using the high-level, ultra secure E2E encryption standard. Matrix employs Olm & Megolm cryptographic ratchets, which ensure that only the recipient can decrypt the message. Also, the security system ensures that users will be warned, instantly, if any unexpected devices join the conversation.

Matrix can distribute various types of data & not only messaging data. The system is perfect for IoT solutions, because the channel is not locked to a specific vendor. Matrix will also find wide application in AR & VR communication.
