Gadgets today dictate the kind of games you can play based on device compatibility. A seamless integration will not only enrich the experience but also help gaming enterprises as games can then be streamed across all devices. Working to empower gaming community, Microsoft is testing Project xCloud, it announced on its company’s blog recently.

The test runs on devices like mobile phones, Tablets that are paired with an Xbox wireless controller through bluetooth & are also playable via touch input. The project will be open to public trials in 2019. It will also study & scale with different volumes & locations.

Once in action, it will be possible to stream games on 4G networks. Project xCloud will also take into consideration 5G networks post its global roll out, aimed at keeping the user at the center of things.

It aims to empower gamers to play any game irrespective of device compatibility, time, location, groups & also gaming enterprises, the blog states. It wishes to bring game streaming on demand that can be accessed from anywhere, just like movies & music. Putting gamers at the center of the gaming experience, the project, once completed, can help them play on the device of their choice.

Xbox One & Gaming Enterprises

Project xCloud aims to get developers & their Content too on board. Over 3,000 games today are available on Xbox One, while other gaming enterprises too are constantly in the process of bettering the gaming experience. Therefore, the project aims to get easy access to their games across all devices without any extra work. This helps gamers to choose to play either on console or PC, also when & where they wish to play. Not only this, mobile-only players can too gain access to new-world gaming experience, something they have been deprived for long.

Project xCloud not only will enrich experience for existing Xbox players but also galvanise developers to scale new players across devices.
