“Peach” will pay you to browse the Internet – Startups

The Internet is the single most defining invention of our generation. It’s an unlimited source of knowledge, entertainment & communication options. It’s also a source of endless, often irritating advertisements, & if you spend time Online for work or pleasure, the adverts will use your data to display products to you.

Peach Plugin, a new Chrome extension, has been developed with revolution in mind. Instead of using your data to sell products to you, they envisage paying you to engage with adverts. The more you surf using Peaches, the more you earn. Sounds great doesn’t it, so how does it work?

Peach operates as a UBI (Universal Basic Income) system, they call it a cUBI(conditional Universal Basic Income) system. Once you’ve installed the extension, you earn the current Distribute Rate, which is 1 Peach, for every 58 seconds while you browse Online.

Users can earn extra “Peaches” if they engage with “Tasks”, which are basically paid-for-adverts. Peaches can be exchanged for goods & services, such as AirBNB vouchers or air flight miles, as well as cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin.

A Peach has a variable value, which changes depending on the advertising revenue earned by the company, so the greater the number of users & advertisers, the greater the browser earning capacity for “joe-average”, which Peach refers to as their “pool” of funds.

Another aspect worth mentioning is that while browsing using the Peach Plugin, users can comment on any area of a webpage, & the annotation is then saved so that other users can improve their knowledge & gain enhanced experience as they surf. Users can also “tip” content creators using their stash of Peaches if they particularly like a post.

Currently, the Peach Plugin only works on the desktop for Chrome, but the developers are working on expanding the diversity of compliant devices. Clearly, there’s little not to like about the Peach vision or system, success will depend on how well users convert, it is most certainly an initiative worth watching.
