“Deal” facilitates digital payments via scanning a QR code

payment over smartphone

In this technologically driven age, where the prevalence of smartphones is a dominant fact of life, it’s pretty weird that payment methods are still often awkward, for clients, businesses & even for developers to integrate into apps or on websites.

Sales are often lost because potential clients simply can’t face setting up yet another account in order to buy something they might otherwise have done if their spontaneity hadn’t been eroded. The prospect of filling in a long involved form can damper clients’ enthusiasm rather quickly.

Naturally, payments should be handled in a fully digital manner, especially for in-store payments or for single digital payments on mobile apps or websites. Deal, a new innovative company, has built an app for this exact purpose.

The app offers users the opportunity to use their smartphone camera to scan a QR code which then facilitates easy payment via the Stripe payment gateway.

Initially, the procedure is as follows:

  1. Scan QR Code – Use your phone’s camera or any QR reader or deal app
  2. Verify – Verify Phone Number. Required only once
  3. Add Card Info – required only once
  4. Confirm payment

Thereafter, it’s a simple 2- step procedure:

  1. Scan QR code
  2. Confirm payment

For businesses wanting to join the brigade, they need to either have a Stripe account or sign up to get one. Thereafter all payments from clients, via the app, are immediately reflected on their Stripe account interface. Deal does not store any credit card information, they merely act as an intermediary between the business, the client & the Stripe gateway, to provide a convenient payment option.

Deal offers 4 plans for their app. The “Basic” plan works on a commission basis, where they charge 0.99% of the transaction for their facility. The Professional plan comes with the option for each business to have their own “branded” app made by the Deal team, which includes both an Android & an iOS version with custom colors, layout & floating on both app stores. (Apple & Google).

Their Enterprise plan offers an additional feature, which facilitates the option for clients to upload cash for payment, via the app. The last option allows clients to dream up their own custom version of the app and approach Deal for pricing.
