Online platform to learn programming aims to impart coding lessons to all – #Startups

Learning to write programs in various computer languages is a process which requires commitment & motivation. Sometimes, it’s difficult to gain understanding of complex syntax & coding procedures from text-based documentation alone. Also, knowledge retention might be limited if there are no ‘catch-references’ to hold on to. An Online platform to learn programming, ‘Progate’ has come up with an innovative app to address the problems associated with learning coding languages.

Progate has an entertainment-based teaching method designed to assist anyone interested in learning to code, no matter their age or level of knowledge. Its technique combines using fun characters named Ken, the Ninja & Master White, as well as slides, images & exercises.

The platform also offers Android & Apple apps & has dubbed them as “programming app for everyone”. Moreover, it has included lessons on some of the most popular languages too.

The curriculum of lessons available includes:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Ruby
  • Java
  • Python
  • Jquery
  • Go

Students are able to assess their progress using marked levels which process achievement based on performance. Exercises offered within the application allow users to check their knowledge, since each lesson offers not only results, but also a set of correct answers.

Progate says it is committed to promoting the progress of its students’ education by providing quality lessons on a timeline. It is fun to follow, while the interaction is entertaining as well as informative. And it must be doing something right, since lessons are provided in 12 countries, with over 500,000 users, also lessons have been completed 720,000 times, as stated by its Website.

Masa Kato, CEO & Founder of Progate, is determined to spread his system far & wide. Started in 2014, the company announced the launch of a subsidiary branch in India in August this year. Progate’s Web-based Android & Apple apps make the choice of device used for study immaterial.
