iOS users: New version of ‘Giffage’ lets you share your GIF love

gif keyboardThis GIF keyboard is reportedly catching on, letting users access & share a collection of practically all the GIFs ever made from their iOS devices, as well as providing tools for creating, editing & quickly accessing your own GIFs. The new, Giffage v4, pushes the envelope by letting you create GIFs from plain text, mash up GIFs & by improving the ‘editability’ & sharing functions of the app.

There are a number of GIF keyboards available out there from places like ParkChicago, Broad City, Bitmojy…, but Giffage distinguishes itself from the competition by making it easy to access 1 of the founders’ huge collection of GIFs: Elliot Tebele of Fuck Jerry fame, who has more than 8 million followers on Instagram, as well as to veritable treasure troves of meme-filled GIFs from all over the Internet.

The keyboard lets you look up GIFs by category (cats, emotions, reactions…), search for favorites, browse GIFs that are trending, save & browse through your own “hearted” GIFs, make your own GIFs & even use the GIffage keyboard to type text without having to switch back to your garden variety iOS keyboard. You can convert ‘live’ photos into GIF files so you can share them with your Android or Windows.

With Giffage Studio you can create GIFs which you can apply filters to & add text, but with the new Giffage Labs feature, GIFs can be created out of plain text, from the current weather & from mashing up 2 GIFs into a new random GIF. The new ‘Layers’ feature lets you add captions, the weather & reverse the playback of the GIF. You can now also share directly from the keyboard to Facebook & Twitter. This app requires iOS 8.0 or later, & is compatible with iPhone, iPad, & iPod touch.
