Mozilla brings back Firefox test program – News

Closed in January this year, Mozilla has announced it was bringing back the Firefox Test Program, & as part of the 1st “test” products, it had opened up the ‘Firefox Private Network Beta’ for review.

It announced on its blog that it was turning to its “faithful users”, specifically the ones who signed up for a Firefox account and opted-in to be in the know about new products testing, to give them the 1st shot at test-driving new, privacy-centric products as part of the relaunched Test Pilot program.

The difference with the newly relaunched Test Pilot program is that these products & services may be outside the Firefox browser, & will be far more polished, & just a step shy of general public release.

Mozilla said it had already lined up a “couple of new products” that it wanted to fine-tune before their official release as part of the relaunched Test Pilot program. One of them was beta testing its project code named Firefox Private Network.

Keeping in mind the increased phishing attacks & other issues related to Online security, the use of the Firefox Private Network “helps protect you from hackers lurking in plain sight on public connections.”
