Microsoft launches initiative to help 25 million people worldwide acquire digital skills needed in COVID-19 economy – News


Microsoft has announced it is launching a global skills initiative aimed at “bringing more digital skills” to 25 million people worldwide by the end of 2020. As part of this, it will release a learning app in Microsoft Teams to help organizations better train & retrain their employees.

The Microsoft Teams learning app will allow organizations to integrate content from LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, Content by their own teams & outsiders all in one place.

The global skills initiative will bring together every part of Microsoft, combining existing & new resources from LinkedIn, GitHub, & Microsoft.  It will be grounded in three areas of activity:

(1) The use of data to identify in-demand jobs & the skills needed to fill them

(2) Free access to learning paths & Content to help people develop the skills these positions require

(3) Low-cost certifications & free job-seeking tools to help people who develop these skills pursue new jobs
