At its November Ignite developer conference, Microsoft presented its vision for augmented & virtual reality (AR/VR) meetings in Microsoft Mesh for Teams, a week after Facebook outlined its future in the metaverse. According to the company, the service combines the AR/VR capabilities of Microsoft Mesh – which enables people from different physical locations to collaborate through AR and VR – with the productivity tools of Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft has announced a new feature for Teams that transforms the collaboration tool into its own version of the metaverse.
