‘Krisp’ drowns out background noise during calls – #Startups

We’ve all been there. While chatting on call with an important contact we want to impress, you & the dog starts barking madly, or the baby lets out an almighty scream…we wish the floor would swallow us whole, instead, we have to continue or break the call & offer to phone back. Now just think if we could drown out the noise? What if we could be confident on a conference or any other vital call that no noise interference could occur? That would be heaven!

‘Krisp’, realizing that this problem is universal, has developed a Web app to drown out the noise. The software, which is available for now only for Mac(requires OS X El Capitan (10.11.2 or newer), uses artificial intelligence to differentiate between human voices & background noise. By doing so the app stems outside interference so that all calls are crystal clear, & well, crisp. Users no longer need to worry about disrupted communications & can concentrate on getting their message across. Also, the app improves with use because, as krisp’s developers tell us, the AI function allows the software to recognize a voice by learning from its sound, & it even improves call definition when network coverage is poor.

The app integrates with the most common call services, & works on eliminating unnecessary noise for both incoming & outgoing calls, so you’ll not only sound better, you’ll hear better as well. Support is offered for Skype, Facebook Messenger, Google Hangout, Zoom, Uber Conference, Slack & many others.

The team, based in Berkeley in the United States, launched krisp in August 2018 & is working at improving it daily. They promise that privacy is maintained & no recordings are stored, so to try it out download to your Mac now & start chatting with confidence.
