If you’d like to raise awareness for your brand or business, setting up a specialized Facebook page dedicated to your company might be just what you need. Today, we are going to tell you how to set up a Facebook Business Page.

Facebook Pages are easy to build & offer a free opportunity to expose your business to billions of potential consumers.

A Facebook Page must be associated with a regular Facebook account, so in the unlikely event that you don’t have one, this is the 1st step you’d need to complete to get your page up & running.

Next, if you’re using a mobile device to post on Facebook, the best option is to download the Facebook Pages app from your App store. But if you’re using the Web interface, you can use the menu options on the left hand dashboard, to find the appropriate link to ‘‘create a page”.

Facebook will prompt you to choose the type of page you’d like.

For instance you’ll be asked to select whether you’re a personality or a business. From there, you’ll need to view the types of businesses Facebook lists, in order to choose a niche category for your company. You’ll also be asked to state whether your business is physical or digital.

After completing the initial set up, you’ll need to brand your page by adding a cover image, profile picture & business information such as your street address, Website URL, contact information & business description. While setting up your page you can opt to keep it unpublished, but once complete you can edit this option & take your information live.

Posting to your new page is very much like posting on a regular Facebook account. However, there a a few differences worth noting:

  1. If you want to host an event such as a sale or product launch, Facebook has a template setting for this eventuality, which not only alerts the community at large, but also allows your followers to let you know if they’ll be attending by clicking a button on your post.
  2. Another option is to use a Facebook template to run a special offer. The Facebook ‘Offer’ option allows you to set up a timeframe for your offer, & assists you in collecting customers who might be interested in your product.
  3. Your page comes with a dashboard for viewing insights into the activity of your followers, you’ll be able to see exact details on the number of views you’ve had, the quantity of new likes & various other information about your followers.
  4. A messaging interface is built in, so you won’t need to use a separate app such as Messenger to communicate with consumers.
  5. You can add an activity button to your page, which offers consumers a variety of interactions, for instance you can add a link to your website, or a download URL for your software.
  6. Once you’ve obtained 2000+ likes, you can add additional functionality to your page, such as an HTML page, which is linked to your main page via a button, where you’ll have greater freedom to invite consumers to view or buy your products.
  7. For a few dollars you have the option to boost your posts. This advertising option allows you to select the demographics of the audience you’d like to target, & offers the option to choose the period of time you’d like to run your campaign for. Full insights into the effectiveness of your efforts are available via Facebook’s engagement statistics.
  8. Posts may be scheduled to run at specific times, for instance at a time you’re more likely to receive likes.
  9. You’re able to share your posts on your regular Facebook account.
  10. All your current Facebook friends can be invited to like your page.
  11. You’re allowed to add administrators, other than yourself, to manage your page.
