How this startup fights cyberattacks – Profile

Computer attackers are always out to exploit a weak path in an organization’s resistance network. To reduce the chances of this happening, cybersecurity is very important as it helps to uncover & eliminate invisible risks in an organization.

Established in 2017, CyCognito is one of the companies responsible for preventing cyberattacks around the world. The company recently raised US $18million in its funding program led by Lightspeed partners. This included an investment from Lightspeed venture partner, a participant from Sorenson ventures, & John Thompson, a former Microsoft chairperson.

With its shadow risk elimination project, the company attempts to reveal & eliminate the attacker’s path of resistance, thereby eliminating the easy way in. Since the system is built on a global bot network operation, it employs reconnaissance techniques that continuously scan, map, fingerprint billions of digital assets around the world.

The company eliminates shadow operations by generating a continuous assessment + immediate result & integrating it with the existing workflow with little need for configuration & external maintenance.

According to the company, the software service platform makes use of a global analysis of all external attacks to autonomously discover, eliminate, & prioritize each organization’s risk.

What this simply means is that the system looks for flaws & holes in a company’s attack surface that can be exploited by external attackers. To do this, it makes use of thousands of bots, scattered over the Internet for devices that may be connected.

The recent funding will help the company expand its operations & engineering to reach more clients. The funding was followed by a $5million seed funding round that saw a response from John Thompson as a participant.

With the funding, the company says it can strive to enhance its intelligence & large scale visibility to increase its level of efficiency.
