To combat this, Amazon has launched Lightsail, a comprehensive set of Cloud services that includes everything a developer needs to build applications on, or Websites. Notably, these services are less expensive than many others currently on offer, starting at a low of US $3.50 per month for the smallest package.

Amazon Lightsail supports a host of coding languages & pre-packaged CMS frameworks — Node.js, PHP 5 & 7, Ruby, WordPress, Joomla, Magento & many others. Amazon has also set up Online with clear instructions on how to get a service of choice up & running in no time. It offers a free 1 month trial so that you can try before you buy, to see if the interface suits your requirements.

The basic service includes:

4.1-click SSH terminal access (Linux/Unix)

5.1-click RDP access (Windows)

6. API

7.Highly available SSD storage

8.Server monitor

Amazon has various options for you to choose between, each incremental service priced on a sliding scale from $3.5 to $160 monthly, the cheapest package includes: 512 MB Memory,1 Core Processor, 20 GB SSD Disk, 1 TB Transfer. With the biggest offering: 32 GB Memory, 8 Core Processor, 640 GB SSD Disk, 7 TB Transfer. These prices exclude database requirements which are available & priced between $15 & $120 monthly, depending on space & usage.

Additional services, which you can add to your package include a Load Balancer, etc are available for more money.

Assistance for any aspect of the service from getting started to specific problems is available on Amazon’s Lightsail Website. There’s a set of tutorials & articles, which you can go through to find out how to do most anything connected to the service. However, if you’re still experiencing difficulties, a forum for each coding language & CMS exists so that you can gain insight & solutions for any issues you might be having.
