As Google passes its 20th anniversary, there’s change coming. According to Ben Gomes, VP, Search, News & Assistant, Google, the next chapter in Search was driven by 3 fundamental shifts in search:
- The shift from answers to journeys: To help you resume tasks where you left off & learn new interests & hobbies, Google was bringing new features to Search that help people with ongoing information needs.
- The shift from queries to providing a queryless way to get to information: Search can surface relevant information related to your interests, even when users don’t have a specific query in mind.
- And the shift from text to a more visual way of finding information: Google is bringing more visual Content to search & completely redesigning Google Images to help users find information more easily.
