Here’s how you can build web3 apps – Startups

Web3 refers to a decentralized web, run by & for its users. Web3 isn’t the future, it’s already here, but it’s not yet mainstream. That it will become mainstream is a foregone conclusion.

Thirdweb is a platform for developing Web3 applications without writing code; it aims to assist artists, creators & businesses to build Web3 Dapps quickly & easily without hiring developers or agencies.

Thirdweb is software for the blockchain. Founded by Steven Bartlett, & based in the UK, thirdweb raised US $5 million in funding from Gary Vaynerchuk & Mark Cuban (among others). This is prestigious for thirdweb & demonstrates the faith big pockets have in this type of platform.

Currently, potential users need to apply to gain early access to the platform. The features include:

  1. Setting up an application (Smart Contract)  on one of several supported blockchains, such as Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche & Fantom with others in the pipeline for the near future (such as Solana & Flow).
  2. Deploy NFT collections or one of a kind tokens with customizable properties.
  3. Set up marketplaces so that users can buy & sell NFT assets.
  4. Deploy custom social tokens, governance tokens & currencies.
  5. Create timed Airdrops to distribute NFTs.
  6. Deploy loot boxes of NFTs with rarity-based unboxing mechanics.

The platform is free to use, but has a percentage based commission structure (5% of profits). This means that they only get paid if their users are successful & that smaller enterprises can enter the market at low cost. Additionally, thirdweb packs powerful, useful functionality under the hood, which includes detailed analytics on users’ performance & split management permissions. The platform also supports advanced NFTs with secret encrypted content/links & the ability to emit on chain events, as well as store key/value for contracts.

The primary aim of thirdweb is to facilitate deployment of Smart Contracts without code, but they also offer robust SDKs so that developers can easily integrate blockchain functionality into their own projects. The SDKS are supported by detailed documentation so that any developer will be up & running very quickly.
