Google has clarified its position on AI-generated Content & how Search views it in a recent article on the Google Search Central blog.
The short answer is that AI-generated Content is not expressly prohibited by Google Search rules. Google, however, will favor “high-quality material, regardless of how it is produced.” Based on “expertise, experience, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness,” or “E-E-A-T,” the company defines “high-quality material.”
While Google won’t directly penalize AI-generated material, it does state that employing AI to produce content with the “main intention of manipulating ranking in search results” is still against the rules. However, not all automation is regarded as spam, according to Google.
