G/O Media, the parent company of Gizmodo, made the decision to cease operations and release the editorial team responsible for the Spanish-language website, Gizmodo en Español. Instead, the company has opted to utilize AI technology for the translation of articles.
Matías S. Zavia, a contributor to Gizmodo en Español, shared that the publication was officially shuttered on August 29th. Going forward, the website will feature articles that are automatically translated using AI. Previously, Gizmodo en Español had a dedicated team of writers who produced original content and adapted pieces from the English-language Gizmodo into Spanish.
