“FineCam” enhances webcam streams on PC & iPhones with 100s of effects – Startups

Using a webcam to share “live” videos has become mainstream. The pandemic changed the way people meet, for work or just to socialize. However, sending a “live” recording over a webcam can mean that the recipient gets a low quality image. Generally, people prefer to enhance the quality of their videos & that’s where a new app called ‘FineCam” by FineShare, can help.

FineCam works on Windows PCs; it captures webcam streams & offers users the opportunity to add backgrounds, filters & effects to the stream. Using this app means that users can output high quality videos that have impressive effects.

FineCam also gives users the option of connecting an iPhone (or phones) to the setup to create a multi-camera webcam stream. Images & documents can also be scanned using an iPhone & added to the stream.

Users need to download the software for their PC & install it. Next, users need to install the Fine Share app on their iPhone & connect the phone to the PC. Once done, the software turns any iPhone into a 4k HD webcam, with over 100 effects to enhance the stream. The software allows users to use both the front & rear camera on their iPhones – in this manner, scenes shot from both cameras can be added to the main webcam stream as insets, creating a unique video which users can shoot multi-dimensionally. FineShare also offers a built in AI quality booster, which automatically adjusts the stream to optimize its quality.

Virtual backgrounds, color filters, optimizing filters & other effects allow users to look better on-cam. FineCam supports multi-scene & multi-camera streaming & allows users to  take snapshots, record their videos & to stream to platforms like Zoom, Skype, Discord, etc.

FineCam is free to download & also brings Apple’s new “Continuity Camera” features to Windows PCs.
