“Facebook is not dead nor dying, but in fact alive and thriving with 2 billion daily active users,” claimed Meta in a new blog post today.
Meta said, among other things, that AI-powered discovery was “one of the most important advancements Facebook is working on.”
People today use Facebook more for entertainment, discovery, & keeping up with current events than they did in the past when it was largely used for connecting with friends & family, according to Meta. To show users material they are most likely to find interesting, Facebook was now investing in AI-powered recommendations. For Reels, which has been expanding aggressively across Facebook & Instagram, this investment was very important, the post pointed out.
